Have you wondered about how we choose our trip destinations? We discuss many ideas about where we would like to go and what we would like to see and do, but in the end, we take turns deciding upon our destination. I got credit for last year’s trip to China, so this was Nick’s year to choose.

We decided to celebrate our good medical check-ups by selecting another Rick Steves tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our three previous tours with Rick’s company, and we were certain that another tour would offer us stunning sights, great guides, and terrific traveling companions. A trip to Eastern Europe would have a lot to offer, because neither of us had ever been to the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia or Slovenia. In fact, we knew very little about these countries and had a lot to learn. We were all packed and ready to leave the following day, May 15th.
