There were also slices of \u00a0fresh pineapple and oranges. Then we had a walk though town. Todd led us to the <em>mercado<\/em> (market) where we had a &#8220;coffee break.&#8221; \u00a0I convinced Nick \u00a0that we needed a vegetable. As Rick <a href=\"http:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1196.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3306 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1196-166x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"166\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1196-166x300.jpg 166w, https:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/IMG_1196.jpg 565w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 166px) 100vw, 166px\" \/><\/a>Steves says in his book, <em>Basque Country: Spain &amp; France<\/em>, &#8220;Even if you&#8217;re not turned on by contemporary art, the Guggenheim is a must-see experience.<br \/>\nIts twenty galleries, on three floors, are full of surprises, <a href=\"http:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ESC_7929.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3311 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ESC_7929-300x161.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ESC_7929-300x161.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ESC_7929-768x411.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ESC_7929.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>and it&#8217;s well worth it just to appreciate the museum&#8217;s structural design, which <a href=\"http:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ESC_7942.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-3310 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ESC_7942-207x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"140\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ESC_7942-207x300.jpg 207w, https:\/\/pisarro.org\/aboutnick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/ESC_7942.jpg 708w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 140px) 100vw, 140px\" \/><\/a>is a masterpiece in itself.&#8221; \u00a0(page 50) I strongly recommend having a knowledgable tour guide, as we did. Outside the museum there&#8217;s a structure of a West Highland Terrier called <em>Puppy<\/em> \u00a0that contains 60,000 plants and flowers. It was supposed to be temporary, but the townspeople loved it so much that they bought it. There is also a fascinating structure of a spider. Nick ordered a salad, while I enjoyed a grilled brie and avocado sandwich with tomato. Raw tomatoes are not my favorite, but when traveling I try to go with the flow.<\/p>\n<p>We returned to our hotel room for a rest. This was to be the group&#8217;s final dinner together. Our entree choices were cod, turbot, pork and lamb. Nick and I chose the lamb, which was perfect. The chef gave us a bit of manly taste sensations on one plate for dessert: \u00a0two cream puffs, one slice of tiramisu, one slice of chocolate cake, and two scoops of ice cream, one mixed berry and one vanilla.
