\"\"<\/a>We awoke to the serenity that we had \"\"<\/a>begun to experience on the previous day. We enjoyed a relaxing morning. \u00a0Agn\u00e8s served us another delicious \u00a0meal. The main course was chicken with potatoes and Swiss chard. \"\"<\/a>This was followed by a cheese course consisting \u00a0of six different cheeses, \u00a0and then, vanilla ice cream and orange sorbet.<\/p>\n

After lunch, Agn\u00e8s suggested that we sit under the linden tree with a book. We were very happy to do just that!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Later we accompanied Jose-Maria as he drove \u00a0to the boulangerie<\/em> to get bread for making sandwiches.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We continued down long and winding roads, seeing many vineyards along the way. We stopped and bought local wine at one.<\/p>\n

We continued driving \u00a0along to a church, but we found that it was locked. Jose-Maria explained that \u00a0weather permitting, that church has celebrated the Mass outside. Fewer \u00a0people are attending \u00a0Mass these days, but at this church \u00a0the attendance is increasing. That may be because after Mass, wine from a local vineyard is served to the congregation.\"\"<\/a>There were so many rustic sights. We \u00a0saw a \u00a0mare \u00a0and \u00a0her \u00a0colt \u00a0along \u00a0the wayl\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We returned to our hosts’ \u00a0home via winding roads that did not have \u00a0guardrails, but \u00a0unlike back in Westport, there was \u00a0very little traffic. There was also no TV, no news, and no barking dogs. There was a lovely sunset, and after that, we packed up for tomorrow’s drive to the train that would take us to Milan.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
