Sicily, Day 16 – December 2, 2016

Here are the Photos of our trip!

We arranged for a van to take us to the airport with five of our co-travelers after breakfast. Ah, yes, the final breakfast had every food imaginable, including gluten free options! We had absolutely no problems with our flight  from Catania to Rome or our flight from Rome to JFK. There were short lines at Customs, and our luggage arrived quickly.  Our driver was ready for us. Home, Sweet Home!

At home, my fingers weren’t swollen, so my rings came off easily with liquid soap.  Nevertheless, I had my rings resized. After we readjusted to the time zone, I checked out recipes for nucatoli cookies and selected one written  in Sicily by someone  who was familiar with American ingredients and measuring. The cookies in the photos looked and tasted exactly the same as those from Antica Dolceria Bonajuto. Here’s the  link:

  1. I ♥ nucatoli cookies and make them every holiday season. Oddly enough though, I hadn’t ever heard of them until a few years ago at a market in Milan.

  2. Thoroughly enjoyed your journey to Sicily and felt like I took all of those steps and ate all of those meals with you and Nick. Thanks for sharing, and especially the recipe for those Nucatoli cookies.
