Lago Maggiore and Milan, Day Zero

Fifty years ago, Nick  worked for a tech company. Through that job, he was  fortunate to meet Jose-Maria, who worked  at the Paris branch of the company. The two developed a friendship that eventually included Jose-Maria’s wife Agnès and me. We have enjoyed many experiences together, including  the Bicentennial Celebration of the USA in 1976 , sailing in the Long Island Sound,  and  dinners in Paris and New York City. When Carla was at school in England, the three of us took the Eurostar to Paris to get together with Jose-Maria and Agnès. More recently, Nick and I got together with Jose-Maria and Agnès in Cap Ferret, France.

The four of us  wanted to have  a special celebration in honor of our 50 years of friendship. We decided that we would meet  at their home in Southeast France, and from there we would go to Lake Maggiore in Italy, followed by a few days in Milan. I have a genealogy buddy who is a member of my very extended family, and perhaps we could meet him in Milan, too.

I took notes during our trip and Nick took photos, as we love to do. We will send a daily blog accompanied by the appropriate photos to our friends and family members who have enjoyed receiving them in the past. If you are no longer interested, simply let us know.
